Vidia's Masquerade Masters
While other people are sleeping, here I am, writing this. Some people get all the good stuff out of life.
In any case, this is my first known blog to you all. Here, I will be sharing with you those things that I consider part of an ever growing Wish List of mine. It is a mix of everything from things I want, people I'd like to meet, places I'd like to go, food I'd like to taste, etcetera. Aside from that, I will also be posting a special entry every now and then (that I have yet of a title for--perhaps Masquerade Master) that will be on the topic of cosplaying.
This first entry will actually be for that purpose. A post about cosplayers who are very good at pretending to be someone else for a day, by people who wish they could be those characters for a day, for whatever reason.
Before I begin to feature my first cospalyer pic, I'd just like to announce that if you are a cosplayer and you'd like to be featured in this segment, feel free to message me or M (who manages the Main Foyer of the Sin Sanctum) and we'll find a way to get you on this page. Similarly, if you are just an avid fan of cosplay that might not really be the cosplayer, you are free to endorse or suggest any cosplayer that you believe should be featured here as well. You can leave a comment below too. I will read those, certainly.
Without further ado, here is the first Master:
Masquerade Master
CHLOE DOAN
(DeviantArt name: the-sushi-monster)
I'd like to call her Vanille from Final Fantasy XIII, but she's probably known as Chloe in real life. Chloe Doan.

Truthfully speaking, I am very impressed with her work and attention to detail. I have yet to see a Vanille cosplay attempt in the Philippines with this level of detail down to the tiniest things. Chloe is part of a FFXIII group as well that I believe also has the best cast I've seen so far.

She has also cosplayed other characters such as Miwako from Paradise Kiss and Winrey from Full Metal Alchemist with, what I believe is, the same level of attention to detail plus a good understanding of the movements of the characters she is portraying. Just those little details alone gives her the feel of already an entirely different person, a different character. That kind of thing I think is quite difficult in cosplay because people that cosplay one character too long might get stuck to being typecast just as that one single character.

As Miwako from Paradise Kiss
(this also happens to be one of my favorite photos of her)
As Rin from Vocaloid
As Winry from Full Metal Alchemist
As Ken from Persona 3
As Teddie from Persona 4
(which is the funniest thing, if you're familiar with the series as I am)
Other cosplay work from:
Vampire Princess Miyu
Bleach
Soul Eater
Katekyo Hitman Reborn
Disgaea

In addition to having interest and dedication into cosplaying, one of the things that makes seem to pay more attention to detail is her hairdresser occupation. Naturally, being particular about the hair is one of the things that any good cosplayer should remember. Some characters are nothing without their hair, so I believe Chloe has a good understanding of this.
Obviously, with her being based in the States, chances of us here in the Philippines to meet her are slim. Still, that doesn't mean that we can't admire her work (a fair share of the credit for a great portrayal of her characters also goes to the photographers who took the photos and edited them--but that may be best for another entry).

Be sure to check her out to see what cosplay marvel is in store for us next. In the meantime, let me know what your opinion is of Chloe by commenting below. Don't forget that if you'd like to be featured here or suggest a skilled cosplayer, you may suggest it below as well.
I hope that this entry caught your interest. I do hope to see more of you soon. Until next time, please keep returning for the Wish List that I will be posting.
Thank you and may you find your way out of Sin Sanctum without being condemned.
